We’re excited to be partnering with one of Melbourne’s most well-regarded scale-ups that already has an impressive footprint locally, and now has plans to move to the US market.

Due to these growth plans, we’re looking for a talented Lead Developer that’s able to work across the stack (running Node / AWS currently) and specialising in JavaScript; most importantly, we’re looking for a strong Technical Leader that will be able guide a drive & navigate a UI re-platform of this companies public facing site.

Key to this role is a GSD attitude. You’re more concerned about solving problems & delivering value back to the team, than using framework X or library Y. Working as a part of a small, cross-functional team and reporting to the Digital Delivery Manager, you will sit with a team primarily responsible for building new digital experiences, advising in best practise development and maintaining the user experience on the customer facing websites, account management portals and other associated experiences.

You will work closely with the Digital, Design, UX, Optimisation and Back End Dev team members with the expectations of delivering high quality digital experiences for customers & users.

What you’ll bring to the table:

• Be tech & framework agnostic, as mentioned, delivering value is more important than having the latest framework / version on your CV
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills (both general business and technical)
• Have an ability to work in fast paced environment, where problem solving & delivery is key

You’ll ideally have these technical capabilities, or be willing to roll up the sleeves and learn about them:

• Be able to develop high quality code, as well as customise existing legacy code
• Strong with React.js or Vue.js
• Experienced with Hooks
• Strong CSS3, SCSS knowledge
• Experience of RESTful API integration and the concepts around it.
• Have an understanding of best-practice for SEO & performance optimisation.
• Proven experience with front end development tools, including, but not limited to: HTML5, CSS, JQuery, Bootstrap
• Experience in CI/CD pipeline in automated build processes.
• Managing Git repositories, including branching and tagging etc.
• Translate business needs into technical requirements while collaborating with all teams to ensure customer focused delivery
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends

For bonus points:

• Experience in a start-up / scale-up: we move superfast, so you need to as well!
• Experience with website performance optimisation and speed
• Skills in Jira and Confluence.
• Working knowledge of front end optimisation and performance techniques
