Your Impact:
At Jacobs, we don’t just lead the development and implementation of environmental characterization and remediation, we live it. As a Junior Geologist you’ll work in the office and field with a multi-disciplinary team consisting of experienced engineers, geologists, and consulting staff. You’ll work closely with senior Environmental Engineers/Geologists/Scientists, supporting the delivery of environmental projects by preparing reports and project documents, preparing calculations, maintaining strong relationships with internal staff and clients, evaluating and reviewing data and ensuring the environmental strategy is being followed.
You’ll have the opportunity to help create a more sustainable world by implementing thoughtful site investigations while working on diverse projects primarily, but not exclusively, around the Carolinas. This position may be located in Charlotte or Cary, NC.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Hydrogeology or a related field
Professional work experience within environmental consulting and conducting work under minimal supervision
Knowledge and experience with various media (e.g., soil, soil vapor, groundwater, surface water and sediment) investigations, data assessments and evaluations, and remediation technologies
Experience participating in health and safety programs Ability to travel up to 40% – 60% time, and travel is not limited to the Charlotte, NC vicinity Ideally, You’ll Also Have: Experience working on active project sites and overseeing subcontractors Master of Science degree with environmental coursework
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing to deliver compliance advice and work collaboratively with internal team members
