Jamaica Cottage Shop, Inc Hiring for Front Desk Associate Job at South Londonderry, VT Full Time

This is not a remote position. Candidates must be able to reliably commute to and from our location here in South Londonderry, VT.

We are a B2C direct distributor of fine post and beam buildings including storage sheds, cottages, tiny homes, garages, woodsheds, livestock shelters, and more.

Hourly wage with opportunity after 90-day probationary period for full benefits package. Opportunity for commissions and bonuses above and beyond hourly wage if also cross-training in Sales.

The phone system is automated and will direct all calls based on the selection the caller makes. The receptionist’s main duties include greeting occasional walk-ins (prospective clients and applicants), answering general questions and collecting their information to pass on to a Sales Associate, closing out plans orders for the call center, and keeping the front office clean and stocked with marketing materials.

Willingness to cross-train in Sales is encouraged / preferred as it also opens up the opportunity to earn monthly commissions and bonuses on top of hourly base pay.

Qualifications:

• Applicant must have a cheerful, courteous, and composed demeanor in a fast-paced environment and always be willing to help.
• Display a neat, clean, and professional appearance.
• Proficient and comfortable in operating a computer as well as a variety of software applications and standard office equipment.
• Proficiency in typing is a MUST.
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills and listening skills to be able to clearly communicate both in writing as well as over the phone.
• Work with minimal supervision or instruction – manage tasks independently but can collaborate as a team member.
• Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple tasks at once with efficiency.
• Clear and concise writing skills, with good grammar and spelling, are essential.
• Ability to take direction and feedback and apply it positively to learn and grow.
• Likes to have fun but work hard as a team and do what needs to be done for the business.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

• Greet walk-ins with a welcoming personality.
• Directs guests as needed including assisting in completing any necessary paperwork.
• Gather visitor information, fill out contact information form, communicate to the team on Community Chatter, and log details in the customer database (SAP Business One CRM – training provided but must have aptitude to learn).
• Take out mail daily and receive, sort, and forward incoming mail daily.
• Should a phone call come through outside the realms of the automated system — Answer the phone, direct the call to the intended party, log in SAP CRM. Exceptional phone and interpersonal skills.
• Keep the front office area stocked and organized.
• Quickly learn enough of the extensive product line to be able to share knowledge with clients and visitors, answer questions, and direct them to the corresponding marketing material in the front office.
• Learn and adhere to office policies and procedures to assist other staff, as needed.
• Perform a wide range of administrative and office support activities to facilitate the efficient operation of the organization.

Benefits

Compensation: $17.50-$19/hour with OT past 40 hours each week. All taxes withheld according to state/federal law.
