The company is currently seeking an experienced Program Manager.
Responsibilities
Program Manager
Position Summary/ Primary Purpose:
The role of a Program Manager requires strong personnel management
skills to support the development and delivery of Airport Baggage
Handling systems to our customers across North America. You will lead a
team of project managers, superintendents as well as subcontractors to
design, install and commission customer solutions to some of the
world’s largest airports.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
Provide overall staff direction & guidance to Project Managers,
Superintendent, Schedulers, and other team members.
Oversee total project supervision effort to ensure appropriate
personnel, budget and schedule are met.
Serve as senior technical advisor to all Project Managers to assist in
difficult installation or start-up problems.
Develop a strong understanding of project contracts, subcontracts and
project scope.
Ensure all Company, departmental and technical policies, procedures,
standards, etc., are adhered to.
Assist in the development of training programs.
Assist other departments as required.
Perform additional assignments per direction of senior management.
Travel to job sites as required to support teams and to resolve project
issues.
Desired Skills and Experience
5+ Years’ experience in Airport Baggage Handling Project Management
experience required.
Engineering or Construction Management degree preferred.
Must be hard worker/self-starter.
Knowledge of computer scheduling software, preferably Primavera P6 and
Microsoft Project.
Must be able to travel.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Four (4) year Engineering degree or equivalent combination or technical
training and/or related experience.
Minimum seven (3) years experience as a Senior Project Manager.
Thorough knowledge of all aspects of conveyor construction, Company
policies and procedures.
Conveyor and material handling experience required.
Airport construction experience required.
Excellent communication, organizational, supervisory and planning skills
required.
Knowledge of computer scheduling, preferably PRIMAVERA and MICROSOFT
PROJECTS.
Attention to detail and a positive responsive attitude.
Overtime is expected – not a 40 hour/week job.
Demonstrated Physical Abilities as Follows:
Remain stationary for 50% of the time; move/traverse throughout the
office to access file cabinets and office equipment; operate a computer
and other productivity machinery; inspect documents; communicate with
others through talking/hearing; read/identify/assess forms and
correspondence. Capable of maneuvering through an industrial conveyor
system requiring climbing access ladders, negotiating screen guards and
lifting and/or carrying objects up to 40 lbs.
