Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a JUNIOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPER in Quantico,VA for one of Our clients. The JUNIOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPER is responsible for transitioning our on-premises software applications to the AWS GovCloud environment. This position involves designing, developing, refactoring, enhancing, testing, evaluating, and supporting cloud-based applications in compliance with stringent security and legal directives.

Responsibilities Of a JUNIOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPER Includes

• Design & Development: Architect, design, and develop scalable, high-quality web applications in the AWS GovCloud environment.
• System Analysis: Collaborate with team members and Government Project Managers to analyze existing systems and design appropriate cloud solutions.
• Refactoring & Enhancement: Refactor and enhance current applications to improve performance and user experience.
• Testing & Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive testing and evaluation to ensure software reliability and compliance.
• Support & Troubleshooting: Provide ongoing support, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in collaboration with infrastructure, development, and managerial teams.
• Integration: Coordinate business and process changes, ensuring seamless integration with both ELTU and non-ELTU software systems.

Job Requirements Of a JUNIOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

• Clearance: Active Top Secret Clearance Required
• Minimum of two years as a software developer in multi-tier framework applications using object-oriented programming languages (Java, Python).
• Experience in normalizing data and providing user support.
• Proficient in developing SOAP and REST APIs.
• Skilled in regular expressions, debugging, and refactoring code.
• Proficient in scripting with command line tools (Vim, Bash, PowerShell)
• Strong knowledge of HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS.
• At least one year of experience as an SQL and/or PostgreSQL database administrator.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Information Systems, or a related field.

Alternatively, six additional years of relevant experience in database administration may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud-based application development, specifically in AWS.
• Experience in migrating on-premises applications to the cloud.
• Knowledge of object-relational mapping (ORM).
• Experience working in Agile development teams using Scrum and Agile principles.
• Proven ability to develop, troubleshoot, and test software to meet requirements.
• Experience developing Section 508 compliant applications.
