One of our companies is currently looking for a Copy Editor in the United States.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Copy Editor to support a fast-growing editorial team focused on innovation, tech, and culture. This fully remote role will be responsible for reviewing news articles, reports, and interviews to ensure clarity, grammatical accuracy, and alignment with editorial standards. You’ll work closely with writers and editors to maintain journalistic integrity while enhancing content quality and readability. This is a contractor position and ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced digital media environment and is deeply connected to tech, business, and cultural storytelling.

Accountabilities:

• Copy-edit editorial content including news articles, interviews, and features for grammar, style, and accuracy
• Ensure all content follows the editorial style guide and brand standards
• Conduct fact-checking and verify sources, statistics, and key information
• Collaborate with writers and editors to maintain consistent tone and clarity across published work
• Perform quality control checks and help optimize content for readability and engagement
• Publish content to WordPress and participate in regular editorial workflow meetings

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field
• 2+ years of copy editing experience in a newsroom or editorial environment
• Strong command of grammar, style guides, and AP formatting
• Experience with WordPress, Google Suite, and project management tools like Asana
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• A keen eye for detail and a strong sense of cultural relevance, particularly in tech and Black innovation spaces
• Ability to work remotely with availability aligned to Eastern Time Zone
