Title: Manager, Logistics Operations
Primary Location: Mexico (MX) – Monterrey or Saltillo
Function: Supply Management / Logistics

Main Responsabilities
Establishes, develops, and manages a logistic network to provide linkage between John Deere’s suppliers, manufacturers, parts operations, and marketing channels to support Enterprise and Division Order Fulfillment goals encompassing the total process (to include freight pay) of inbound and outbound movement of raw material, complete goods and after-market parts from source to destination while measuring and establishing operational service processes and criteria. Negotiates rates and services on behalf of John Deere, that provides maximum leverage in cost and service.
What skills you need
- Works with the enterprise/divisions/units to ensure the logistics network is meeting current and future requirements. Develops and communicates standards and operating procedures (e.g. regarding packaging, returnable containers, shipping, transportation, etc.) to all relevant John Deere units.
- Develops and maintains a logistics network to meet the delivery goals and ensures organizational requirements are in alignment with the enterprise/divisions/units strategic plan.
- Ensures the selection and contracting of needed logistics partners. Negotiates rates and services on behalf of the company, which provides maximum leverage in cost and service.
- Ensures that the enterprise/divisions/units are meeting required logistics related regulatory and customs requirements.
- Researches and evaluates possibilities/opportunities to improve the network and staying abreast of new developments in the industry. Defines, develops, and implements innovative processes and procedures to optimize performance indicators. Identifies and develops needed resources, techniques and ensures the research and use of innovative information.
- Provides metrics to show the logistics network is meeting requirements and to show the cost of the delivery process. Performs analysis and studies as requested (e.g. international resorting of suppliers, modal selection, cost studies). Utilizes benchmarking techniques to evaluate progress and recommends changes for implementation in order to achieve continuous improvements.
- Leads direct reports and manages administrative duties to support the human resources processes, e.g. performance management, salary pay plan, succession/career planning, budget management, training and development.
- Protects the corporate image and environmental ethic of John Deere by ensuring that all activities and projects comply with local, regional and international customs regulations.
