The Opportunity
As Senior Software Engineer at John Deere Financial, you will work on a product team and support product design by planning its work, coordinating with others, and writing and testing code to deliver functionality on a complete digital solution. This level designs complex and significant parts of a digital solution and solves well-defined problems with little guidance. You will also typically act as a work lead, providing technical coaching to other software engineers. Primary responsibilities of this role include:
- Develops, codes, configures, and tests programs and systems.
- Evaluates and implements enhancement design solutions to improve cost, quality, and performance of software applications.
- Determines software specifications that must be fulfilled to achieve objectives.
- Collaborates with team members and stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business needs.
- Follows industry-standard agile software design methodology.
- Mentoring and developing team members through code pairing or other technical skill coaching
Required Skills, Experiences and Competencies
- Mastery level understanding in designing, developing, and implementing web-based applications using Java, Vue, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Mastery level understanding of application development environment, database, data management, and infrastructure capabilities and constraints
- Mastery of authentication and authorization
- Proven experience of cloud development in AWS or Azure
- Proven experience of API development (REST / SOAP)
- Proven experience working in a team environment
- Proven experience collaborating with stakeholders to solve problems via digital solutions
- Skilled in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution
- Working understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices
- Experience in Agile Development practices including paired programming
