Do you want to put your skills to work as a Manufacturing Specialist at our state-of-the art manufacturing center in Richmond, Virginia? Come join us at John Middleton Company where you will play a vital role in making sure that our production facility is running smoothly so we can continue to do what we do best – manufacture highest quality products.
Manufacturing Specialist support cigar manufacturing operations by handling and moving materials and operating a variety of machines and packaging equipment. Manufacturing Specialist also participate in cross-functional teams to identify problems and opportunities and to develop and implement solutions.
Your job duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Read and follow procedures, work orders, and other job documentation.
- Inspect machines, equipment, materials and manufactured product to ensure conformance to order and quality standards. Manually remove semi-finished goods from the production line into storage/transport containers.
- Operate product making and packing, case packing, loading and palletizing equipment. Make adjustments as needed to maintain efficiency and quality standards.
- Operate moving and lift equipment including forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and man lifts.
- Load and unload trucks. Break down palletized materials. Move, store, and stage materials as needed for operations. Load materials into machines as needed for specific production runs.
- Use computer systems to retrieve and enter information.
- Complete forms, checklists, and other documentation in paper and electronic formats.
- Perform routine cleaning of machines and surrounding areas. Maintain environmental and sanitary conditions in the work area.
Required Qualifications are:
- At least 18 years of age.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States and for John Middleton.
- Available to work any shift, and must be willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays.
Possess Manufacturing Technician Certification (MT1), equivalent manufacturing experience, machine/operator experience, or relevant military experience preferred.- Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
Compensation:
The starting wage for this position is $28.58 per hour and additional compensation may be available through our manufacturing incentive program. Wages increase over 48 months. The current top rate is $31.53 per hour.
