Position Summary

• To set up and operate a variety of CNC and mechanical machining equipment, producing a quality close tolerance part, striving to achieve one hundred percent measured productivity.

• Responsible for accurate (low maintenance) set up and operate (utilizing maximum machine capacity) on all equipment assigned to the section. A variety of set ups and operations are to be performed and can be described as typical to any metal fabrication operation.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate machinist is wholly responsible for the documentation of and quality of the part produced.

• Must be able to set up to completion and operate CNC and mechanical equipment assigned to.

• Must be able to interpret “Operations Set-Up Hardcopy” and “Program” to select speeds and feeds, operational sequence, tooling and checking fixtures for such operations as turning, boring, facing, chamfering, threading, tapping, etc.

• Must be able to interpret complex drawings identifying required dimensions.

• Must be able to select pre-designated jaws determining suitability for use and/or capable of machining and boring to make them usable or to program replacement set.

• Required to be able to calculate offsets when given an angle, distance, and formula along with any manual adjustments.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of related experience in machining work.

• Completed at least 2 yrs. of H.S. machine shop training and two CNC courses

• Completed Shop Math ll, Machine Shop ll, and two CNC courses, i.e. adult vocational school, community college, or equivalent training

• Must understand shop math, decimals, fractions, ect. Read micrometers and calipers.

• Must have basic knowledge of trigonometry and GD&T.

• Must have basic knowledge of m and g codes

• Must perform all duties with minimal help

• Lift up to 45lbs
