• Graduate Manufacturing Technicians, 2020/2021 STEM graduates who will initially participate in a 23-month contract Accelerate programme of all-area technical understanding/experience and other skills development
• Manufacturing Technicians (Career Change), candidates from all types of work backgrounds who wish to career transition into biopharma, initially participating in a 23-month contract Switch programme of designated area technical understanding/experience, and other skills development
• Manufacturing Technicians (Experienced) with direct bio, pharma or related GMP manufacturing experience, on an initial 23-month contract with robust onboarding and upskilling plan

From a continued professional development perspective, each role is well-placed for potential subsequent opportunities in site operations or other functions, and future leadership positions too (including global).

We are currently looking for Manufacturing Technicians (Career Change or Experienced) to join our team and we would love to hear from you if you are interested. We are searching for candidates who are passionate and can quickly assimilate into the strong team we currently have in place.

A Manufacturing Technician (Career Change or Experienced) supports manufacture of quality biomedicines in accordance with cGMP and EHS requirements. Reporting to the Operations Team Leader, these positions are responsible for day-to-day activities within the Operations department. These activities include (but are not confined to):

MAIN TASKS:

As a Manufacturing Technician (Career Change or Experienced), your typical day may include:

General Activities

• Working assigned shift patterns to meet business needs and Operations schedule

• Use of DCS (e.g. Delta V), MES and PLC control systems to execute processing steps

• Assembly and disassembly of processing equipment

• Integrity testing of process filters

• Sampling of product streams, clean utilities and performance of environmental monitoring (routine and batch specific) according to site procedures

• CIP/SIP of processing equipment

• Cleaning and sanitization of Operations facility

• First line maintenance and calibration of equipment

• Support of commissioning and qualification activities

There are 3 specific areas during the manufacturing process, and each area (as assigned) has individual responsibilities and requirements as outlined below:

Cell Culture (Upstream) Activities

• Media preparation, filtration and storage

• Assembly and disassembly of the bioreactor vessels

• Assembly and disassembly of cell culture recovery equipment (ATF/biomass systems)

• Employ strict aseptic technique to all cell culture activities

• Monitor and control media harvest hold area

• Continuous monitoring of cell culture process

Purification (Downstream) Activities

• Chromatography processing of biopharmaceutical product using Unicorn control system

• Filtration, ultrafiltration and virus filtration of purified product

• Final filtration, filling and finishing of purified product

Bioprocess Supply Activities

• Assembly and disassembly of Operations equipment for cleaning and sterilization

• Operation of washers and autoclaves to clean and sterilize equipment

• Operation of COP and SOP booths

• Buffer and media preparation

Qualifications

CRUCIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Career Change Candidates:

Essential:

• Leaving Cert combined with appropriate transferable experience (2 years’ minimum)

• Ability to adhere to batch records, SOPs and work instructions

• Ability to understand rationale behind tasks being performed

Desirable:

• Experience of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Experienced Candidates:

Essential:

• Leaving Cert combined with appropriate GMP experience (2 years’ minimum/GMP specific qualification)

• Ability to adhere to batch records, SOPs and work instructions

• Ability to understand rationale behind tasks being performed

Desirable:

• Operations experience within a GMP regulated environment

• Operations experience within a life sciences or biopharmaceutical environment

• Experience of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

• Experience with automated systems and PLC controls

• Experience in an SOP, ISO, or similar regulated environment strongly desired
