Joshin is looking for a full-time Advocate to join our team to support our existing members, coaches, and caregivers. As an Advocate with Joshin, you are a member of a select group of professionals visible to individuals and families seeking care, guidance, and education through Joshin.
Our Advocacy team is the voice of Joshin, helping both coaches and members navigate resources for employees, families, and allies with/of disability and neurodivergence. As an Advocate, you love helping people in their times of need and striving to remove the systemic barriers and close the resource gaps for this community!
Our Advocate team works remotely and we are looking for a full-time Advocate in the PST. Standard working hours are 8:00 AM-5:00 PM PST.
As a Joshin Advocate, you will
Support improving and updating Joshin guides and Community Resources.
Ensure the highest quality of customer satisfaction by meeting the company standards for production and quality.
Meet members’ and coach needs and deliver amazing service by monitoring and performing follow-up calls, e-mails, and instant chats while following Joshin procedures and guidelines.
Conduct video appointments with members to support their goals with navigation and coaching.
Provide ongoing case management and triage in accordance with the Joshin outreach schedule and comply with turnaround time and documentation requirements.
Answer user questions about our product and provide personalized online appointment booking support.
Strategize creative solutions to help solve member needs.
Relay customer insights and patterns to support product innovation.
Take on short-term research projects as needed.
Provide other duties as assigned.
Advocate applicants should have
A background in social work, human services, or healthcare.
Empathetic listener.
Effective time and project management skills and attention to detail.
Highly refined communication skills across phone, in-person, and electronic messaging conversations and experience managing difficult customer and provider situations.
Well-versed in disability and neurodivergent resources.
Technologically adept.
Superior organization and multitasking capabilities.
A motivated and ambitious outlook – you love to get things done while staying organized.
Dedication to delivering excellent customer service while remaining calm, flexible, and invested in the member’s journey.
Problem-solving skills to help find creative solutions to meet customer needs.
Enthusiasm to work independently and on a collaborative team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Empathy for customers and devotion to work with discretion while working with sensitive data.
Proficiency with macOS systems, GSuite, and Slack.
Additional helpful experiences and skills
Experience working with sensitive health information.
Experience in public health or related field.
Experience in healthcare benefit advocacy.
Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.
Experience in disability and neurodivergent resource areas and advocacy such as job coaching, work accommodations, government benefits, and more.
Fluency in a language other than English.
