Your mission is to lead the evolution of our Cap Table product and technology strategy, along with building a growing team of software engineers. You should be highly motivated and an inquisitive Senior Engineer, with in-depth knowledge of the web ecosystem – from mobile and desktop to the cloud. You will be a key part of the leadership team within the Cap Table business and will influence decisions made in the broader Global Shares business.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a senior technical leadership role and should have experience hiring and supporting teams of engineers in multiple locations. You’ll grow & develop the technical team to build a scalable technology infrastructure and enable Global Shares growth.
Job Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
Provide technical leadership, people and project management to the engineering team
Experience with and having deployed applications to Microsoft Azure cloud services
Expertise in Microsoft tech stack; SQL Server, .Net Core, Entity Framework/LINQ
Experience with front-end development; Angular, TypeScript
Ensure effective internal communications between the software development team and Product team as well as across the organisation
Accountable for the delivery of on time and high-quality software product releases
Accountable for technology and delivery decision making
Provide leadership to audit and control measures to ensure that the team can both achieve relevant certifications and operate to the highest standards
People Management and Scaling the Organisation
Guide, coach and mentor team members
Establish clear organisational structures and career and succession plans for all software engineering staff in line with anticipated growth
Provide support for all staff in keeping with our values, policies and procedures
Ensure that the skills and experience of software engineering teams are consistent with the needs of Global Shares
Practice and Standards
Drive consistent standards and approaches to ensure best practices are followed
Create, implement and maintain a continuous improvement plan for software development
Monitor technical debt and ensure remediation as an ongoing activity in the development cycle
Cultivate a culture of development and testing automation
Ensure delivery consistent with Agile processes across the team
Participate in design reviews and recommend improvements where needed.
Provide technical leadership for teams facing complex technical challenges, architecture issues and software development.
Participate in requirements and specifications squads where required to drive out requirements and designs
Seek out difficult impediments to our delivery efficiency (“technical debt”) as needed
Participate in Prototyping where required as a mechanism to accelerate development processes
Participate in Product and Community discussions to provide technical leadership and influence on the Product Roadmap
Delivery Planning & Tracking
Involved in strategic planning to accomplish our short- and long-term goals
Interaction with team members to ensure successful delivery of each sprint iteration and product release
Accountable and responsible for effective financial management, planning and monitoring of the Engineering team
Manage all software engineering delivery schedules, budget and people allocation and implement mechanisms to monitor all software development activities
Provide delivery status information to the Management Team and ensure proactive communication of challenges, risks and blockers
Work effectively with Product, Customer Success teams to ensure delivery against agreed priorities
Required Capabilities, Skills & Qualities
Strong experience managing a team using multiple technologies and disciplines.
Experience in building technical solutions using Cloud Technology (i.e. Azure) and client/ server web applications (i.e. .Net Core, Angular)
Experience with Agile software delivery as well as setting up CI/ CD pipelines
Solid software development background including design patterns, data structures and test driven development
Excellent time management skills with proven record on prioritization of tasks to keep projects and team on track.
Past experience recruiting and building development teams.
Ability to identify weaknesses and strengths of alternative solutions to problems
