A little bit about the role…

We’re looking for Head of Product Management to guide and inspire our Product Manager team. The role is full-time based at HQ in Christchurch. The role is a newly created position and will ensure, through compassionate leadership and sharp business acumen, that the business product plans we pursue will be worth our while, helping us manifest our purpose as the brand that strives to improve the wellbeing of the world through the outdoors. Key responsibilities include;

• Develop a comprehensive, seasonal product growth strategy that integrates into the overall Kathmandu business for all product categories
• Effectively manage business objectives, initiatives and programs for the Product Management Team to ensure that agreed strategies are executed in a manner that achieves Kathmandu’s strategic goals
• Oversee the seasonal Line Planning Process in accordance with Business Objectives
• Oversee competitor product and pricing comparison mapping / tear-down process
• Present and lead seasonal business cases to wider leadership team during Seasonal creation process partnering with Snr leadership across the business to identify and pursue opportunity
• Ensure seasonal gross profit targets and goals are met
• Oversee the review of Kathmandu’s range to ensure that product meets market expectations and business achievement standards

You will have a career history that demonstrates your passion and knowledge for product within product management roles globally, understanding regional and global needs. You have the ability to commercialize trends relevant to our customer with strong financial acumen and analytical skills to back up the trends. You will be tertiary qualified and are an engaging leader with the ability to get great results from your team without compromising on engagement and their development. You have an understanding and connection to the outdoor/sports industry and the outdoor lifestyle.
