Kord Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of KBR, is currently seeking an Aviation Safety Manager to provide support at Ft. Hood, TX

Overview:

• Provide On-Site Safety Manager to cover the hours of operation to include some weekends.

• Comply with AR 95-20 on flight and safety operations

• Comply with safety-of-flight messages and other messages (non-routine) involving maintenance activities within the scope of the performance work statement for those aircraft on maintenance request to the contractor

• Comply with NAS 3306 ARFF

• Provide oversight in ensuring that aircraft are secure while outdoors with aircraft tie-downs, with the windows and doors closed IAW the MDS and platform specific technical documents with the aircraft is not actually being repaired by contractor personnel

• Develop, document and implement a Foreign Object Elimination (FOE) and Foreign Object Detection (FOD) program IAW AR 95-20

• Provide reports for accidents, incidents, and violations to Team Oranje and KBR – The contractor will review and understand all quality management instructions relating to safety and maintenance programs.

• Participate in the annual updates for all quality management instructions

• Establish and maintain a safe and healthy workplace at each work site, free of hazards to life and property

• Comply with safety regulatory guidance including those as detailed in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) instructions

• Provide safety training to contractor personnel, to include: traffic safety; prevention of motor vehicle accidents; vehicular movement of troops; storage of arms, ammunition, and explosives (AAE); defensive driving; accident reporting; and handling of hazardous material (HAZMAT)

• Comply with safety requirements in and report mishap and crash/fire rescue IAW DA PAM 385-90, DA PAM 384-40, DA Form 2397 series and AR 385-10.

• Prepare a report on equipment and facilities shortfalls or substandard tooling/facilities that may affect operational concerns or that could delay performance

• Coordinate with the COR to make safety items available at all times for contractor work sites

• Comply with the provisions of Fort Hood Fire Regulation 420-1 in performing the inspection, weighing, and maintenance of fire extinguishers provided to include fire extinguisher delivery to and pick-up of from the exchange point

• Maintain bulletin boards with safety and security information posted IAW OSHA and AR 385-10 at contractor inhabited maintenance facilities

• Validate that the FARP is ready for inspection by the Government Safety Inspector

• Climb fuel tankers to conduct safety inspections

• Climb up and around the AH-64 and CH-47 aircraft associated with the training program

• Crawling may be required when conducting safety and inspections during operational or crash safety internal investigations.

Requirements:

• Graduate of the U.S. Military Service, resident, Aviation Safety Officer Course.

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• 5 years experience working as an Aviation Safety Officer at Battalion/Squadron or higher level.

• 50% travel required to FARP Sites and Field Training Exercises per year
