Kidd Operations A Glencore Company Looking for Operations Coop (16 Months) at Timmins, ON Full Time

Position Overview

Located in Timmins, Ontario, Kidd Operations consists of Mine and Concentrator sites focused on developing and sustaining economic mining plans for its ore body. The mine extends to a depth of 3.01 km (9,889 ft), making Kidd the world’s deepest base-metal mine.

Kidd Operations is now accepting resumes from students of Mine Engineering for co-op placements beginning in Spring 2023. Student placement duration is 16 months.

The position offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with experienced Mining Engineers, Technologists and Technicians in an extremely deep and technically challenging mining environment. You will be challenged with work from a variety of engineering disciplines, most significantly Mining Engineering. You will work in an office setting tracking daily production, assisting with production improvement projects, and assist with managing capital and operating budgets. You will have exposure to underground field work and provide support to our paste fill operations, completing paste related QAQC testing and reporting, and reviewing engineering prints.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will:

• Be enrolled in a Mining Engineering program at a recognized Canadian university
• Thrive in a fast paced environment
• Possess strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Have strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Be legally entitled to work in Canada
