What does the Product Design & Developer DO?

Some of the incredible things you’ll be doing are:

RANGE & PRODUCT MANAGEMENT

*
Responsible for the management of selected seasonal ranges, from line list development to on time delivery in store.

• Work closely with Planning & Product Design team to develop product specs and create artwork for new season products that are on trend.
• Review trends and work with suppliers to develop innovative products
• Achieve first margin targets and help to improve overall GP%
• Analyze sales of previous ranges to inform product & range development
• Update & maintain range planner to ensure the business has update information regarding OTB spending.
• Ensure critical path timelines are met.
• Develop RFQ form and negotiate prices with suppliers.
• Develop and attend post seasonal reviews with added input around sales and product knowledge.
• Create and maintain buying reviews, final range sign offs and overview presentations that can be shared with the business.
• Develop training manuals for the wider kikki.K team

STRAGETY & COMMERICABILITY

Develop and maintain range development calendar, that flows into the rest of the business. Liaise with Creative director, Head of Planning, Marketing and Senior art director to ensure product themes & stories will drive sales, ensuring that colour flow, design hand writing, themes, innovation and trends come together to achieve business targets.

• Develop & deliver rationale around product life cycle, colour, products and material
• Present flow & migration of categories where the growth is moving to/from
• Liaise with Head of Planning on product performance to build strategic plans for underperforming area or opportunities for growth

SOURCING & PURCHASING

Source new products and ideas for the business inline with current trends & Creative Brief

• Build strong, productive long-term relationships with suppliers for quoting and sampling products.
• Negotiate prices, shipment dates, supplier terms with suppliers.
• Source new suppliers as necessary

DATA INTEGRITY

Work closely with Product Coordinator to ensure all information provided is correct to enter in RMS to raise orders, update supplier details etc.

• Work closely with Product Coordinator to ensure the data is always maintained.
• Ensure all quotations, orders and sample information is filed correctly.

QUALITY CONTROL

Ensure all specifications sent to suppliers are correct.

• Always follow company process for quality control
• Work closely with Product Coordinator to identify high risk products and conduct appropriate testing.
• Review all pre-production and shipment samples to ensure the quality of the products is accurate.
• Continuously work with suppliers to improve on any quality issues that might occur.
• Follow up any quality issues that occur in a timely manner.

Some of what we’re looking for you to SHARE includes: *

At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role

• Experience with a fashion, stationery or home wares brand preferred
• Degree/Diploma of Arts, Design, Business, Merchandise or Marketing is preferred.
• Experience in managing high volume SKU’s
• Experience in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in brand/department strategy development
• Track record of meeting and exceeding targets/KPI’s
• Knowledge of range architecture and range mapping
• Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills
• Advanced Microsoft suite knowledge
• Worked with RMS software is preferred
• Excellent Time management skill, ability to multitask.
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Attention to detail
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong data integrity
