DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:Position DescriptionPrimary purpose:Administer corrosion control program for assigned division; accountable for related activities including design, installation, operation and maintenance of all corrosion control facilities for maximum efficiency, compliance and safety. Ensure compliance with policies and procedures mandated by state and federal pipeline safety regulations. Ensure company corrosion records are kept and maintained according to PHMSA requirements, Company standards and department guidelinesEssential duties and responsibilities:* Supervise division corrosion control program in order to achieve goals within budgeted funds and available personnel; plan projects and designate accountability for assignments, review progress, direct change in priority and schedule as needed to assure work is completed in an efficient and timely manner.* Participate in the selection/progression of staff, salary change consideration and disciplinary matters.* Conduct performance evaluations and provide training and motivation to make full use of individual capabilities and to meet changing system demands.* Orient new employees as to procedures, policies, location and operation of equipment or assign such orientation and familiarization to appropriate personnel. Coordinate annual refresher, safety and emergency response training.* Develop and administer capital and maintenance budgets based on staffing and resource requirements, cost estimates, objectives and goals.* Monitor and document expenditures assuring compliance with approved budget and staffing levels.* Design corrosion monitoring and cathodic protection systems through complex activities including specifications, calculations and graphic and statistical analysis, power assessment and evaluation of survey data, confer with departments responsible for contracts, environmental compliance and right-of-way procurement.* Prepare or assign preparation of contract drawings/sketches, specifications and bid invitations when outside contractors are to be used.* Plan, coordinate, and direct jobs, determine priority of corrosion control projects and installation of protective measures.* Consult Technical Manager on major projects, budget proposals, and priorities.* Establish and maintain a professional relationship with local, regional, and national NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers) organizations.* Represent Company at regional inter-company corrosion coordinating committees.* Delegate and review Company’s notification to various agencies, companies, and committees of corrosion protection systems.* Maintain required records, including assembly, compilation and review of reports. Enter computer data and generate reports.* Review as-built drawings and annual survey data.* Assist technicians as needed with the analysis of field test data from annual and interim surveys and determination of best corrective action.* Investigate corrosion problems in the field through survey work and/or research and may coordinate some activities with other companies and/or vendors when necessary.* Resolve cathodic protection and interference problems including measures to be taken, as well as any system adjustments.* Implement corrective action through corrosion and maintenance personnel or oversees work of outside contractor.* Coordinate and direct Corrosion Technicians and contracted services.* Maintain and demonstrate a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets, employees, and the general public.* Lead by example, drive Kinder Morgan safety culture throughout the organization.Supervisory responsibility:* YesEQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER STATEMENT: We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected
