Our client represents the most recognised high end, premium Spa brand. For over thirty years, they have sold their spas, via a national chain of showrooms, which now has grown to 24 branches, in NZ and Australia.  

The Role:

On their behalf we are seeking a forward-thinking Warehouse Manager to take a hands-on leadership role, within their Albany based Distribution centre.

Leading a team of 5 warehousing staff, your primary focus will be to ensure the daily operational activities of inwards and outwards goods, are completed on time and in an accurate and safe manner.

They have a relatively complex warehousing environment, and storage space needs to be well planned.  It will provide a decent challenge and get your inventory planning to good use.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the team of 5 to ensure efficient accurate dispatch of orders
• Manage workflow and tasks to meet priorities
• Liaise with Freight Forwarders to ensure management of incoming containers, factoring in warehouse space and work capacity
• Manage the inward goods function, including unloading containers
• Receipt incoming stock in alignment with purchase orders and action discrepancies
• Provide training for new staff, including use of WMS
• Identify & implement opportunities for continuous improvement 
• Ensure all goods, including dangerous goods are correctly stored
• Respond to update requests about order status
• Oversee accurate order dispatch, including consolidation of orders 
• Complete all item fulfilments, including any reallocations for parts and spa orders
• Assists with new WMS implementation
• Oversee the upkeep of the WMS, including the labelling of bins, zones, shelves etc
• Lead the annual and cyclic stock takes
• Work with the Dealer Sales Manager to ensure the smooth, weekly dispatch of spa runs
• Ensure that the team adheres to safe work practices.
• Create a positive, enthusiastic team, who take ownership.

Experience & Competencies sought:

• Warehousing Management experience, managing workflows & KPIs
• A visible leader. A positive, motivator, encouraging teamwork & best practice
• Focus on ensuring inventory accuracy and delivery performance
• A strong problem solver, and planner, especially when it comes to stock management
• Effectively manages pressures and priorities
• Displays adaptability and decisiveness
• Confident PC skills & WHM systems 
• Experience with inventory allocation systems
• Health and Safety experience
• Has Forklift License and is confident using it
• Knowledge of MPI and DG regulations
• TFO or AP Certificate or Hazardous Goods experience
• Some technical / mechanical ability is a bonus
• Strong work ethic. Doesn’t clock off with unfilled orders
• Your team will enjoy working with you and you will get the best out them
