The Student Voice team is part of the Planning department and works closely with the Pro Vice-Chancellor for Education and Executive Director: Students Services and their respective teams to ensure a well-coordinated and holistic student voice mission at Kingston. This strategically important role requires working with stakeholders from across the organisation to coordinate and evaluate our student’s feedback in support of operational, management or strategic level initiatives.
Kingston is a university which aims to place students’ feedback at the heart of decision making. This role is fundamental in helping the university to achieve that by better understanding how it is measuring outcomes and how it compares to internal and sector benchmarks and thresholds.
You will love working with students and helping to amplify their voices through the various feedback mechanisms. You will be both good at contextualised analysis and communicating in a succinct and clear way.
You will know and believe that Student Voice is a team sport with stakeholders from across the university. You will therefore be a driving force in building a collaborative ‘student voice alliance’ from across all business owners to maximise the value of the feedback we receive.
Be part of a team that improves performance in higher education
The Planning team empowers Kingston University to make decisions that improve its performance. We do this through research, data analysis and information that enables the institution to develop strategic and operational plans.
Our work impacts diverse areas. From identifying new courses to offer and ascertaining which interventions are helping students succeed, to providing information that assists the university to manage resources effectively.
One of the ways our team does this is by developing data from our data warehouse and translating this information into user-friendly dashboard visualisations. This makes analysis and decision-making quicker and smarter.
Understanding what Kingston’s students think, want and expect is a central part of our work too-through research, surveys, and collaboration with staff across the organisation.
Our team also undertakes league tables analyses, and we advise on the relevancy of metrics from external organisations, such as the Office for Students.
Being a motivated and supportive team, we enjoy the reward of knowing our work contributes to the University’s success.
This is a full time, permanent role with a starting salary of £45,953 per annum.
Interviews are likely to take place in the week commencing 13 February 2023.
If you require further information about this role, please contact Mr Gerry Greyling, Head of Planning.
