Our unique winery Bistro offers a full wine and food experience in beautiful Gibbston.  This role is mostly day time hours only.  

We are looking for an exceptional Restaurant Manager in our Winery Bistro, With proven leadership experience you will be reporting to our Food & Beverage Manager, leading a team of 12 with responsibility for daily planning, service delivery and problem solving.  

You will be responsible for: 

• Leading the team on the floor to deliver a world class guest experience at all times
• Maintaining a positive team culture, including the Kinross values of respect, passion, communication and support
• Supporting the F&B Manager with rostering, ordering, stock levels, suppliers etc
• Assisting with co-ordinating and delivering Events
• Ensuring all cash and financial processes are followed and accurate
• Presenting the Bistro, Wine garden, children’s area, Garden Pergola and Willow Room, as well as maintaining all equipment, to a high standard
• Managing and minimising waste in wine, food, time and energy
• Health and Safety processes and team wellbeing

About You

• Min 3 Years experience in FoH, Barista, Service and Wine
• Min 2 years hospitality / people management experience
• Positive and professional manner, honest and reliable
• Excellent customer service skills and experience
• Be highly organised and work well under pressure
• Current Manager’s Certificate in accordance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 – or be working towards this
• Barista Training
• A passion for wine and food is essential, and wine experience or WSET qualifications a distinct advantage.

This is a full time (min 30 hours) salary position, weekends essential, so the successful candidate must be flexible in their availability.  Our Bistro is closed in the evenings except for some specific tour group bookings.

We are open 7 days a week, looking after in-house guests of our 14 room, boutique vineyard hotel, as well as many visitors, locals, cyclists, wine tours and event guests.  

Our Bistro has a 40 seat inside space, plus a 100 seat outdoor “Wine Garden”.  Events and groups are hosted in our multifunction “Willow Room” space (60 seated for dining), and outdoor “Garden Pergola” (25 seated for dining).
