We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Software Test Engineer to join our highly motivated R&D Controls Software Development team in Belrose. The R&D Controls Software Development team within Dematic is responsible for delivering standard software products to support a wide range of automated systems, automated machines, and automated sortation solutions, for warehousing and distribution operations. Development and support teams are distributed across multiple locations in Europe, North America, and Australia. This role is responsible for testing a range of software products that are currently in development. These products range from real time applications for high performance material handling equipment, to HMI and ancillary applications/tools. The Key responsibilities of this role include: – Participating in test case design and documentation – Performing analysis of test automation effectiveness and product design discussions – Conducting simulator/emulator interface definition – Completing a small amount of automation test tool and infrastructure development – Generating and/or reviewing test requirements. Translating high level requirements into specific test requirements – Working with a range of software products from low-level PLC software (main focus) to higher-level C# desktop tools and web tools – Building and maintaining a comprehensive suite of test cases for targeted testing and/or regression testing – Carrying out manual software testing – Identifying methods to automate software testing – Working closely with software developers to understand features and confirm correct operation – Analysing and measuring the effectiveness and utility of the tests and generating test reports – Participating as a member of a Scrum team – Learning and applying new tools, technologies, and industry best practices

Tasks and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Formal software testing experience in both manual and automated testing, and both unit and integration testing
• Familiarity with Scrum Agile software development
• Familiarity with version control and release management
• Strong understanding of software design and development understanding
• Familiarity with test driven development
• Experience with professional higher level programming language, specifically C# or similar
• Experience with scripting languages applied to automated testing
• A passion for excellence and the drive to complete tasks within the required time frame
• The ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills
