So that is where you come in! You will help coordinate the safe access to track for Protection Teams and Maintenance workers. Here’s an opportunity to develop your skills in an area of the business which is growing rapidly.

Your Role:

Working in Wellington with locally based projects, the Protection Planner will report into the National Protection Team and work to determine track access requirements, Protection Planning needs and coordinate best practice for the projects.

Primary responsibilities will include:

• Facilitating track (and traction overhead) safety protection processes
• Liaising with Third Party and BAU Protection Teams to prevent access clashes
• Maximise the safety and productivity of the project field teams and third parties who have access the rail corridor.
• Work as part of the wider Protection team to coordinate the most efficient and productive track protection methods.
• Minimise the disruption to trains without compromising on safety.

Your Skills:

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate the following:

• Experience working in rail protection covering multiple, large operational worksites
• The ability to oversee works in a fast-paced environment
• Experience undertaking protection planning functions for large multiple worksites
• The ability to manage contractors and employees
• Excellent communication and coordination skills
• Confidence to stand up for safe work practices
• Excellent knowledge of Track safety rules
