As a Storeperson working for RSAS Wellington Mechanical Depot, located at our KiwiRail site in Thorndon Wellington, you will be part of the team responsible for the receiving, storing, picking and packing for the distribution of mechanical parts and materials nationally to our various mechanical Depots.

You will assist in ensuring efficient utilisation of the facilities for storage and timely supply to meet our production and customer requirements.

This is a hands-on role where you will be working along with other inventory personnel and employees from other sites as required. Your role will require you to safely operate a forklift.

• Previous experience in a logistics or warehousing environment is desirable
• Current OSH forklift operating certificate and an ‘F’ endorsement on your Class 1 driver’s licence
• Strong attention to detail & good with numeracy, great Warehousing practices along 5S lines.
• High level of physical fitness, team spirit and be Health and Safety focused
• You enjoy having fun while getting the job done and being part of a focused team, collaborate with Tradesmen & Management to achieve best results in a sometimes challenging timeframes.
• AP certificate for MPI container de-vanning would also helpful
• Good oral and written communication skills
• A competent level of computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, email etc.) prior SAP knowledge/experience would be beneficial
• Carry out all activities in an honest and ethical manner and treat all employees, customers, suppliers and visitors with respect
• Accurately able to count materials when required, good paperwork reconciliation skills
