KiwiRail Looking for Warehouse and Distribution Leader at Lower Hutt, Wellington Region, New Zealand Full Time

As the Warehouse and Distribution Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our warehouse and distribution operations. You will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate movement of products through our supply chain, maintaining inventory accuracy, and leading a team of dedicated warehouse staff.

Your Role

We have a great opportunity within our RSAS Integrated Business Services leadership group for a successful and strong leader with Warehousing and leadership skills to provide support and guidance to the Rolling Stock Warehouse team.

The Warehouse and Distribution Leader role has responsibility for leading and supporting the warehouse team, and to oversee the transition of current warehouse management processes to industry best-practice standards. They must ensure that all required warehousing and distribution activities for current and future rolling stock are planned in-line with this new standard and communicated to the RSAS sites across the country.

Reporting to the Integrated Business Services Leader, the Warehouse and Distribution Leader is responsible for leading the team of Senior Storeperson managing the national warehouse to enable the business unit to complete the work necessary to keep our rolling stock fleet delivering services to meet our customer expectations.

Your Skills

• 8+ years’ experience in Warehousing and/or leadership roles in a heavy industrial, mechanical environment
• Knowledge of best practice Inventory and Warehouse management methodologies
• Demonstrated ability to analyse, interpret and present complex information in a way that is clear and easy to understand
• Demonstrated experience in business process improvement and associated change management processes
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including an ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff
• Demonstrated drive to continuously improve operational practices
