The Opportunity:

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a detail oriented and self-motivated BI Developer to join our specialist data team, reporting into the Analytics and Innovation Manager. As a Business Intelligence (BI) Developer you will be responsible for providing data visualisation and reporting to both the Komatsu team and Komatsu customers. These outputs highlight the relevant information through to stakeholders for appropriate actions to be taken, contributing to a customer centric, data driven culture within the company.

In this role you will:

• Transform the rich datasets available throughout the business into formats which are easily digestible for stakeholders; ultimately providing business growth and efficiency
• Design, construct, quality check, maintain and enhance BI reports/dashboards to communicate data to stakeholders as inputs into decision making process
• Manage the inventory of reports through their end-to-end lifecycles
• Create, update and support data models to increase efficiencies during high level analysis throughout the business
• Provide reporting on improvements, anomalies and discrepancies of data sets, identifying and communicating results to the relevant business unit for review and update
• Extract data for provision to internal and external stakeholders for use within reports or other contexts
• Be a key contributor to the business in developing solutions to efficiently update data within datasets
• Support the business by providing guidance on the availability and use of data and platforms such as ERP and bespoke develop systems
• Partner and liaise closely with the wider Business Transformation team on various projects, providing assistance on a wide variety of tasks

The successful candidate will have proven experience and skills in the following areas:

• Passionate about working with data with at least 4 years’ experience
• Very-high competency in Microsoft Excel (including Power Pivot)
• Experience in Business Intelligence software (Microsoft Power BI & SSRS preferred)
• Conceptual understanding of relational database
• Data modelling experience (SSAS and Power BI preferred)
• Attention to detail and a data cruncher
• Problem-solving skills

• General-purpose programming (R or Python preferred)
• Presentation Skills (Written, Verbal & PowerPoint)
• Project Management Skills
• Analytical mindset – breaking tasks into smaller user stories
