This reliability engineer position is responsible for ensuring that the wood pellet fuel plant’s equipment and processes operate at optimal levels and meet the needs of the business’s operations. The main goal is to increase equipment uptime, reliability and efficiency to maintain a world-class production environment through mechanical and electrical reliability.

Maintenance documentation to the world’s best practice standard is critical.

This role’s primary focus is to ensure optimum plant reliability by preparing for the entire life cycle of manufacturing equipment.

About the reliability engineer role:

• Reports to the Engineering Manager.
• Responsible for finding potential problems or opportunities for improvement by analysing data and identifying patterns within the data.
• Conducting root cause analysis to determine the underlying cause of problems
• Develop and implement solutions to prevent problems, ultimately improving the reliability of systems, equipment, and processes.
• Ensures all regulatory requirements are always met and supports the production and compliance systems.
• Responsible for preventative maintenance, unplanned breakdown investigations, machine service, R&M budget control, and other maintenance functions as required.
• Develop and maintain a quality preventative maintenance programme.
• Maintain strong relationships with OEM machine suppliers, outside contractors, the operations and maintenance teams.
• Actively leading/championing process improvement and H&S actions.

About you:

• You have the relevant mechanical trade or engineering qualification.
• You have proven experience in manufacturing systems and machines.
• You are an analytical thinker: you think critically and logically and have the ability to work with large sets of data and make sense of them.
• You are a problem-solver: the ability to think creatively and come up with innovative solutions to complex problems.
• You are a skilled communicator: you explain technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
• You have experience in managing external suppliers, contractors and staff.
• You are committed to Health & Safety and industry compliance.
• You are a good team player with a passion for manufacturing.
• You’re skilled at budgeting and cost control.
• You’re well-versed in detailed reporting, planning, and contributing to management.
• You are cool and collected and your work product is smouldering hot.
