The Clients & Markets function, in conjunction with NMP Brand & Growth, is responsible for developing our go-to market strategy, maintaining and raising our brand profile and building trust, and in conjunction with our Head of Growth, working with National Industry Leaders and Divisional National Managing Partners to drive profitable and sustainable growth. Our focus is on creating demand, building capability in our people and enabling sales through a consistent global framework for business development (the KPMG Way). The Clients & Markets function builds the firm’s brand and reputation and provides the information, tools, support and challenge required to identify, win and retain clients and to deploy our high performing sales and marketing team.

The Opportunity

• You will be responsible for working alongside our National Industry Leaders and National Managing Partners to identify and drive profitable and sustainable growth, and for equipping our business leaders with the business development skills necessary to achieve this.
• You will lead, develop and implement business development strategies that will expand our client opportunities, increase number of engagements, and enhance our brand through trusted client relations.
• Your role will lead a team of specialists including a Sales Enablement Leader and Research & Insights Manager, and will be a key point of contact into our Sector Driver community, our National Managing Partners across each of our divisions, the KPMG Transformation Office, and for our Clients & Markets staff members who reside in each of the divisions.

Day To Day You Will

• A key part of the Clients and Markets Leadership team, along with the Head of Brand and National Managing Partner (Brand & Growth) and key accountabilities include:-

Divisional And Sector-led Growth

• Develop, lead and embed comprehensive growth strategies to deliver on the firm’s growth priorities, both Sector and Divisional, including initiatives that deliver to evolving client demands.
• Leverage KPMG Global collateral including methodologies and frameworks, where available, to drive firm wide growth.
• In conjunction with our National Managing Partners (NMPs) and Sector community (National Industry Leaders (NILs) and Sector Drivers), be proactive in identifying new business opportunities, markets, and partnerships that will expand the firm’s reach and grow the business.

Driving Insights

• Keep informed of market and competitor trends and use influence and relationships to challenge current thinking informed by insights.
• Working closely with the Head of Brand, drive Thought Leadership across the business, and see this as a platform to communicate Insights and increase brand profile.

Team / Relationship / Stakeholder Management

• Work as a Leadership Team with Head of Brand and National Managing Partner Brand & Growth to articulate Clients and Markets purpose and value to the business.
• In conjunction with NMP Brand & Growth, and Brand Lead, set the strategic direction for the Clients and Markets team and deliver on this.

What You’ll Bring To The Team

• At least 10 years’ experience in a senior or executive role with a focus on either sales, marketing or business development, with proven experience to develop, and deliver on, successful growth strategies across an organisation
• Significant experience leading a team of diverse disciplines to work together to achieve a common growth strategy
• A thorough understanding of the New Zealand Corporate, SME and Government business environments
• Proven ability to build relationships with senior executives and influence thinking across an organisation
• Proven ability to translate business development concepts through a commercial lens to deliver on targets.
• Experience and understanding of sales and research campaigns
