Lake Taupo Cruises Looking for Crew Member aboard Scenic Cruise and Charter Vessel at Taupo Central, Waikato Full Time

This part-time role is primarily host and hospitality based, where you will be greeting and caring for our guests onboard a popular scenic cruise boat, Ernest Kemp Cruises. Providing local knowledge and history to our passengers, while accommodating their needs for refreshments. There will be an expectation of work in an additional crewing position aboard our luxury charter vessel, Regal Flyer, in which the role is based around hosting our guests, catering, and trout fishing.

This role will require you to perform crew work on the boats as well as the potential to occasionally assist with admin in the office. 

Operating seven days a week as a popular tourism business, this role will require applicants to be available for weekends and public holiday work. Applicants must be flexible to work hours between 9am-10pm (our occasional approximate 10pm finishes are generally during longer days in the Christmas/summer period rather than winter), sometimes at short notice due to the nature of our bookings. 

Expected minimum hours per week are 15 – 20, with an expectation to work more during the incoming summer months.

Successful applicants will need to have a full driver’s license and own transportation. Prior experience in hospitality and sale/supply of alcohol; and experience with admin work is advantageous – however, full training will be provided.

The role requires applicants to be fit and healthy, well organized, immaculately presented, reliable, able to work to high expectations unsupervised, very high cleaning standards, confidence and competence on the boat during rougher conditions, ideally have local knowledge of Lake Taupo and the Taupo area and show respect and enthusiasm for your work.
