Reporting to the VP of Sales and Marketing, this role will be responsible for optimizing processes associated with the end-to-end sales process. He/she will be responsible for identifying opportunities to enhance overall revenue generation through movement of available inventory, optimizing movement of products, lead generation and reporting on all key sales metrics. As an individual contributor, the Director of Sales will be required to engage, collaborate with and influence business partners to affect implementation of or necessary changes to key work streams. Key drivers of sales results are inventory management to optimize depletion and revenue, logistics economics, portfolio profitability and accounts receivable. Consequently, key business partners include Global Supply, Operations, Logistics, Finance and Marketing. Analysis of and reporting on commodity movement, portfolio profitability and receivables will be regular deliverables for this role. Support of sales initiatives, events and other duties as assigned will be required from time to time. Director of Sales will also assist in training of all Sales staff to ensure a constant learning environment.

Main Duties

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of inventory levels and under and over supply notifications to avoid dumping of products and foster proactive customer notifications of order cuts and promotional offers.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regular deliveries to enable identification of truck load capacity.
• Create Promotional Offers to move over supply and aging inventory – collaborate with Marketing on key promotional initiatives.
• Manage accounts receivable to improve aging and recommend account terminations.
• Produce and communicate profitability reports to the sales team with key observations/insights.
• Maintain effective and collaborative relationships with Sales, Supply, Operations, Logistics, Finance and Marketing teams
• Determines annual unit and gross-profit plans by implementing marketing strategies; analyzing trends and results.
• Establishes sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products.
• Implements national sales programs by developing field sales action plans.
• Maintains sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
• Establishes and adjusts selling prices by monitoring costs, competition, and supply and demand.
• Own the lead management process from lead capture to follow-up. You will work collaboratively with Sales to consistently optimize volume and quality of leads and opportunities.
• Work in close partnership with the Sales and Marketing teams to jointly design executable integrated marketing campaigns
• Expand our marketing channels and tactics, including tele-prospecting, lead buys, emails and partner marketing, beyond trade shows and events, to drive growth.
• Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand Lakeside Produce customer base.
• Design, implement and optimize lead nurturing programs and lead scoring to accelerate prospect movement through the demand generation funnel.
• Identifying valuable emerging markets and creating a strategic plan with the Director of Sales & Marketing.
• Forecast sales weekly and/or monthly and provide updates to Director of Sales & Marketing.
• Build and maintain relationships with all current & future accounts.
• Handle and Assist with customer complaints.
• Ensure constant training for team members to maintain a high level of product and service knowledge on an ongoing basis.
• Reporting on forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of accounts.
• Assist with Annual and quarterly planning for implementing sales strategies.
• Serve as a business representative at major industry events, conferences, trade shows and expositions.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience

• 5 – 7 years’ experience with a Master’s Degree OR 7 – 9 years’ experience with a Bachelor’s Degree OR 9+ years’ relative experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Finance or comparable education/experience.
• Experience in Sales, Business Development and Marketing for at least 5 years.
• Leadership experience is required.
• Advanced working knowledge of Famous operating system.
• Experience with building required business models for large deployment.
• Familiar with monitoring applications and practices.

Produce experience is an asset.
