Lancaster University is one of the UK’s leading HE institutions, consistently ranked in the top fifteen across all major UK league tables. It is a complex, multi-layered organisation comprising more than 16500 students and 3500 staff. Benefiting significantly from a recent multi-million-pound campus development programme, the University is at the heart of a global education community that encompasses international teaching partnerships in China, Malaysia, Ghana and Germany.
In the role of Educational Developer (Global), you will join a vibrant and collegial Educational Development team, and will have a key role in shaping a range of forward-thinking, innovative and impactful professional development interventions to further Lancaster’s strategic educational priorities. You will provide expertise, leadership and high-quality professional development to staff across Lancaster’s global community of educators, with a particular focus on developing strong links with colleagues from our key partnership campus in China, Lancaster University College at Beijing Jiaotong University.
As a core member of the Educational Development team, you will possess a demonstrable knowledge of the Professional Standards Framework for Teaching and Supporting Learning, and associated accreditation processes. As well as providing leadership and coordination of postgraduate level initial teaching development, you will draw on your creative repertoire of organizational and teaching development approaches for a range of assignments. In particular, you will help realise Lancaster’s strategic vision for global interconnectedness – harnessing the collaborative potential of our diverse partnership community, and building on successes such as the Global Undergraduate Research Conference.
Drawing on your knowledge of educational practice and contemporary debates in higher education, you will make key contributions to the design and implementation of guidance, workshops and curriculum development advisory support, making a significant contribution to major cross-institutional initiatives related to curriculum transformation. You will be able to demonstrate effectiveness in developing individual university staff, but also the ability to build rapport with the wider education community, create and leverage networks, and foster dialogue with colleagues at different levels of the organisation.
We would warmly welcome applications from people with a passion for educational excellence, who enjoy working with colleagues from a diverse range of educational and cultural backgrounds, and will thrive in a dynamic and ambitious university.

We particularly welcome applications from black and minority ethnic people for this role in order to increase our staff diversity in this part of the University.
