An opportunity has arisen for a forward-looking and proactive individual to join our management team. The Head of Library Space and Experience will lead the User Experience Team within Library Operations and User Services and be responsible for front-line service provision and the library physical spaces.
You will lead a broad range of user experience activities and events, within the University as well as with partner institutions and other groups; co-ordinating feedback and survey responses to inform library initiatives and maintain a welcoming study environment. As the Library Health and Safety Officer you will ensure the library is safe, accessible to all and is a space where everyone feels they belong. As such it plays an essential role in enhancing the student experience and promoting the value and impact of the service.
You will have proven experience of working with students, staff and other groups, including leading on key initiatives. A demonstrable understanding of the future of academic libraries and a creative and flexible approach to service provision and development are essential.
This is an exciting time to join the Library. With the launch of a new vision, The Library Towards 2025 and with a recently opened new extension to the building, there are a wealth of opportunities for contributing to the success of the Library.
Lancaster University Library provides an outstanding environment for study and research. We are committed to being user-focussed, digitally driven, socially inclusive and innovative in our approach to service provision.
This is a full-time, permanent role.
