The Director of Operations is responsible for managing the lifecycle of services delivered to our Clients from the opportunity identification stage through to ongoing client support and operations.
Subsequently, the position is responsible for managing the operations, technology, and Profit & Loss of the services business, supporting the Company’s delivery of best-in-class services to a growing community of clients, striving to enhance the value of our services, improving client relationships, and seeking ways to further expand service offerings to meet client needs.
Position Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning
o Provide in-depth analysis and insight into capital, technology, process, and personnel investments needed to achieve business objectives
o Maintain an in-depth understanding of technology managed services industry, competitors, suppliers, and clients then leverage this understanding to achieve business objectives.
o Develop and implement new products and services that enable the business to grow
Client Service
Establish an environment of exceptional client service that retains existing clients and attracts new clients
Understand clients’ varying, often quite specific, business needs and applying knowledge of the company’s products to meet those needs
Ensure quality of service by gaining a thorough and detailed knowledge of technical specifications and other features of client’s systems
Follow up on completed sales with personal visits to assess the client’s satisfaction, to maintain contact, and to remain the preferred partner
Operational Excellence
Develops business plans and reports on the status of the business operations that enable management to assess performance and progress
Implement the necessary technology, personnel, process, and operational oversight in order to accomplish business goals and objectives
Ensure the provision of a reliable, scalable, and secure technology and operations environment that enables clients to effectively utilise the deployed services to run their businesses
Identify key operations metrics and use this information to enable continuous improvement in Managed Services
Review technology and operational practices in place and identify opportunities for further development and driving efficiencies.
Team Management
Develops and maintains communication in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of management, employees, and clients
Ability to attract, hire, develop and motivate staff as needed to accomplish goals and objectives
Foster a positive and collaborative environment between the Managed Services and Application development teams
Hiring, training, and managing the telemarketer to set additional sales meetings
Meet regularly with the co-workers and management to ensure that proper information flows in both directions and to share experiences and other pertinent information
Business Development
Work closely with the marketing and sales organisations to win new business that will enable the business to grow by increasing market-share and profitability
Author and present proposals to new clients for technology and technology services (present and demonstrate products as necessary)
Review service deployment progress and identify opportunities for further sales and new areas for development
Create networking relationships in order to maintain awareness of potential clients’ activity in our market, i.e. new business, expansion of existing business, as well as competitor activities
Credentials and Experience:
Bachelor’s or associate degree in computer-related field, with courses in computer science OR 8 to 15 years related experience OR Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Pay: Base + bonus based on P&L for MSP practice
