Position Description
Definition
The incumbent creates, maintains, and manages content for LVMPD’s digital recruiting communications efforts (internet, intranet social media platforms, and traditional media outlets) to serve the following primary purposes: maintain or enhance the Department’s image throughout all areas of the community, including the news media, engage effectively with the public through social media and in person, and work with all members of the Department to develop a basic understanding of the job duties so this information can be portrayed on social media for recruiting. Incumbent also develops and manages effective online advertising strategies and acts as a civilian recruiter during virtual and in-person job fairs.
Distinguishing Characteristics
This position is appointed by the Sheriff and is not subject to the competitive requirements of the Civil Service Rules of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Selection Process
Application Filing
Applications and resumes must be submitted online and received by the posted closing date and time. Decisions on an applicant’s suitability for this position may be made solely on the information contained in the application and resume, and therefore, both should be filled out in their entirety.
Selection Process
Once all applications and resumes have been screened, the top group most suited for this position will be required to submit two work samples. Samples include social media advertisements such as posts, videos, or printed marketing advertisements.
Top applicants based on the application, resume, and work product review will be invited to participate in the next phase of the selection process which will include an interview, at a minimum. The dates and times of appointments will be announced after the closing date of this job announcement.
Additional Selection Processes
If you are selected for this position, you will undergo a thorough background investigation. The background investigation takes approximately 90 to 120 days to complete. You must also meet the LVMPD Hiring Standards. LVMPD employees participate in the Department’s random drug screening process.
