Job Summary: Participates as a member of the surgical team by scrubbing to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure while staying vigilant for maintenance of the sterile field. Anticipates the need of the surgeon and handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. Education – Required:

• High School Diploma/GED

• Technical School Diploma Surgical technician

  Experience – Required:

• less than 1 year

  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities – Required:

• Ability to initiate, accept and adapt to constant change within a healthcare setting.

• Effective communication and customer service skills.

• Knowledge of medical and surgical supplies and sterile techniques.

• Time management and organizational skills.

  Certifications – Required:

• Health ServicesBCLS – Basic Life Support

• CST – Certified Surgical Technologist Applicants hired after 12/28/2020 must be a graduate of an accredited surgical technology program and hold certification as a surgical tech or be a member of our US Military and received training as a surgical technician or its equivalent. If certification is not held, applicant must have been in a position as a Surgical Technician for a time period no less than 2 years and be grandfathered in to not need certification from previous HCO. Once hired at LVHN facility, applicant will have 18 months from the date of hire to obtain Surgical Tech Certification.
