What you will get to do in the role
- Provisioning, configuration, and operations of Kafka operator and related tools on OpenShift platform.
- Design and development of Kafka clusters in an on-premise or cloud-based hosting environments (AWS, Azure, OpenShift).
- Implementing custom Kakfa event client.
- Implementing partitioning strategies and configuring brokers, topics, producers, consumers, schema registry, KSQL.
- Kafka security and encryption.
- Kafka performance optimisation and tuning.
- Kafka operations and scaling.
- Support the daily operation and effective performance of the business solution.
- Support incident/problem identification and management including service request processes by identifying, recording, solving, updating, and closing incident/problem records and capturing the resolution and knowledge in ICT Service Management System.
- Consult with stakeholders to identify, develop, and implement improvements, and best practice in processes and procedures.
- Develop staff capability through knowledge transfer.
- This role is suitable for applicants who wish to work remotely.
- The option for either a contract or permanent position is available.
Skills we think the best candidate will possess
- Kafka administration.
- Knowledge of containerisation and related tools such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker.
- Knowledge of CI/CD DevOps best practices and the tools to implement them such as Git, JIRA.
- Well versed with Java, Spring boot, node.js, REST APIs, micro-services.
- Development experience in data and message bus technologies.
- Proven ability to work independently, creatively, and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
- Desire to work in an information systems environment.
- Excellent presentation, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
