Under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator(s) and Clinical Research Coordinator assist in acquisition and analysis of patient information for multiple clinical research projects. Interviews patients to gather information prepares and maintains study record enters data via computer performs statistical analyses of resultant data. Participates in qualitative/quantitative analyses of resultant data. Reviews relevant literature to gather information; may participate in development of research protocols. May perform EKG�s and take vital signs during research-based monitoring tests. May also perform blood spinning and shipment of blood and tissue samples as required by protocol.
Research duties may include:
�Recruiting and consenting patients and families
�Scheduling participants
�Data entry and analysis
�Collaboration with PARC clinical programs
�Preparing submissions to the Institutional Review Board (IRB)
�Drafting study progress reports for funders
�Participation in multidisciplinary discussions regarding research design and implementation
�Screening research participants
�Administering rating scales
�Administering diagnostic interviews to study participants
�Administering laboratory-based measures to study participants.
�Collecting psychophysiological data
Observe all hospital policies rules and regulations.
Performs other related duties as required assigned or directed.
BASIC KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Baccalaureate Degree in a Human Service field preferably in psychology human biology neuroscience or related fields.
A career interest in clinical psychology or related field. Excellent computer and communication (verbal and written) skills.
Past research project experience (preferred ; especially if involving programming and/or psychophysiological data acquisition/processing)
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well with children and parents.
Willingness to tackle complex tasks in an independent manner.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft applications.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the lifespan with consideration of human development stages and cultural patterns.
INDEPENDENT ACTION:
Performs independently within department policies and practices.Refers specific complex problems to supervisor where clarification of departmental policies and procedures may be required.
