The Teaching and Learning Centre (TLC) at Lingnan strives to create an institutional culture that values, rewards and sustains engagement, innovation and excellence in learning and teaching. It is an exciting time to join the Teaching and Learning Centre at Lingnan with a newly approved Strategic Plan and work commencing across four areas of strategic priority: Learning Enhancement, Learning Innovation, Learning Analytics and Learning Design.
We are seeking an outstanding individual to join the TLC team as a Videographer in support of the creation of professional video teaching and learning resources across a number of funded projects.
The appointee is accountable to the Manager and Strategic Lead, Learning Innovation and will work with a team of educators and professionals on various projects to enhance Virtual Teaching and Learning in the University. He/she will be responsible for (i) video production including concept design, art direction, scene setting, scripting, photography, sound, lighting and editing for teaching and promotional purposes; (ii) acquisitions and inventory of audio-visual equipment and software, post-production of teaching and promotional multimedia resources, technical support as well as user training; and (iii) performing any other duties as requested by the supervisor(s) / Director.
Applicants should have:
a) a recognized degree from a tertiary institution and / or relevant equivalent experience;
b) experience in developing video resources (ideally with an understanding of the nature of video production in an educational context);
c) experience in video shooting and editing (such as Final Cut Pro, Premiere, After Effects, Pro Tools and industry standard video production and audio equipment, note knowledge in lighting / sound will be an advantage);
d) experience and/or acquired training on providing quality audio control and judgment in studio and field production; providing operation support in studio and field production coverage; solving daily operation problems and providing front-line maintenance support;
e) strong oral and written skills in English, proficiency in Cantonese and Putonghua an advantage;
f) ideally experience in working on the production of video and motion graphic resources for teaching and learning projects, OR the ability to demonstrate strong transferrable skills in this area;
g) strong business intelligence acumen in the identification of user requirements and processes;
h) strong organizational, team and communication skills.
Candidates with less / more experience will also be considered for appointment at a relevant rank.
Salary and Benefits
The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity. Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for two years.
