CLASSIFICATION TITLE OF THE JOB: SECTION CLERK
JOB CLASS #: 410: Full-Time position in the Assessment & Taxation Department
CLASSIFICATION CATEGORY: Service Employees International Union (SEIU)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Assist customers with information pertaining to assessments and taxation.
Perform cashiering functions.
Perform clerical duties.
Provide data entry duties.
Assist property owners applying for deferrals.
Provide backup clerical support in various sections.
Maintain regular and predictable work attendance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ability to prepare correspondence and reports, perform cashiering functions including
receiving payments by mail or in person, communicate effectively both orally and in writing,
understand and follow oral and written instructions, work independently with minimal
supervision and work with numerical data to make mathematical calculations accurately and
rapidly.
Two years of experience in general office secretarial work which preferably includes one year of
experience in an Assessor’s Office. A high school diploma or equivalent and additional college
level secretarial coursework is preferred. A valid motor vehicle operator’s license and an
acceptable driving record at the time of appointment is required to be a condition of employment.
COMPENSATION: $2,948- $3,760 Monthly, Full-time with benefits.
