Position Summary

LinQuest is seeking the immediate hire of an on-location Software Systems Engineer to join our team at Los Angeles Air Force Base in El Segundo, California. As Software Systems Engineer, you will lead system engineering activities in support of agile software development projects.

Join a small, hand selected systems engineering team defining the next generation of space communication systems supporting the United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) Advanced Communications Acquisition Delta (SZM). You will support Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) activities in a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment. You will work onsite, co-located and closely integrated with the Government Customer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead systems engineering activities, with responsibility for defining, tracking, testing, and validating requirements and defining the criteria for successful delivery of software projects.

• Oversee development contractors to develop and deploy integrated ground segments

• Review proposed hardware/software implementations that satisfy program requirements and provide feedback to the customer.

• Develop and review models and conduct analyses in support of development and flowdown of requirements

• Perform system integration of multiple efforts to integrate space systems with satellites, space with ground systems, and ground systems with Satellite Operations Centers

• Manage and negotiate interface control documents with external stakeholders

• Perform systems architecting and engineering activities such as system requirements definition, interface definition, design, interface management, data architecture development, systems integration, performance analysis, lifecycle cost analysis & estimation, decision analysis, development and refinement of communications concepts of operation, and verification and validation

• Independently collaborate with Government program office representatives, FFRDC, SETA, and contractor personnel

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Systems Engineering or an undergraduate degree in a STEM area with relevant experience.

• 6+ years of professional experience performing work related to the skills enumerated above.

• An active TS with SCI eligibility is required to be considered.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• 3+ years’ experience with Agile/SAFe/Lean development of software for military systems using DevSecOps, including related SE and PM tools and techniques.

• Familiarity with a wide variety of software architectures and applications

• Background in software program management, software team lead, scrum master, Agile coach, or engineering/project manager.

• Experience with development, integration, and/or operations of DoD or other Agency (NRO, NSA, NASA, etc.) ground and space systems.

• Experience with DoDAF-compliant architectures, system requirements analysis, requirements trace management (including DOORS/DNG or other related tool experience), and MBE/MBSE (including familiarity with related tools such as CAMEO and modeling languages such as SysML).

Compensation: The salary for this position ranges from approximately $120,000 – $160,000 depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
