THE TEAM
The Marketing Insights and Data Analytics Services team within the Marketing & Data Strategy organization works on projects across all divisions, to develop insights around Fans and Marketing programs. These insights are used to inspire new marketing programs and improve existing marketing efforts across Concerts and Ticketmaster business units.
THE ROLE The Marketing Analytics Director will lead of team marketing analysts to provide strategic insights, optimization opportunities and general business and marketing performance analyses. They will liaise with business stakeholders and partners to capture needs, prioritize work and resource allocation, review analysts work and mentor teams in crafting insights, data visualization, and storytelling.
This person should be a highly organized leader who can manage multiple analytics projects and work streams while ensuring quality and timely work from analysts of varying experience and skillsets. They Marketing Analytics Director will be supported by an Analytics Data Enablement team who will ensure that necessary data is available in necessary formats and tools, that data definitions are documented and clear, that self-service dashboards are maintained to support stakeholders daily and basic analytics needs, and support QA and data troubleshooting with engineering teams. The focus for this team is meaningful and timeline insights that can drive marketing improvements and business growth.
WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
Distell and craft insights recommendations and into compelling stories that are easy to digest and actionable to both technical and non-technical audiences
Manage a team of analysts to analyze performance of marketing campaigns and other data sets to drive optimizations and marketing strategies
Support the setup, execution, and analysis of marketing and media experimentation initiatives across multiple platforms in collaboration with key partners from across the organization
Coach and mentor marketing analysts to help them develop their analytical capabilities, ability to distil and craft insights, and present findings in easy to consume decks and one pagers in a story telling format
Manage marketing analytics and test & learn projects including defining project plans, assigning analytical resources, managing timelines and ensuring quality deliveries are produced on time
Present analyses and test results to internal stakeholders across to organization
Establish regular marketing reports that provide business and marketing program health snapshots and develop presentation templates to simplify and standardize insights presentations
Partner with media and CRM functional leads to determine analytical needs and support
Define data and tool needs for marketing analytics and communicate requirements to analytics data leads and engineering team
WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Marketing, Marketing Science, Marketing Analytics, Business Analytics or comparable work experience
Minimum of 6 years of work experience in marketing analytics and data strategy, with 3+ years working within an Advertising, Marketing, Analytics, or Digital Media firm
Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
Excellence in crafting, communicating, and socializing complex ideas, recommendations, and insights with an adaptable communication approach, as necessary, to partner with broad team member groups
Experience mentoring and coaching analysts
TECHNICAL SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
Highly skilled at distilling marketing insights from data, visualizing data to support storytelling, and crafting compelling and digestible stories to convey learnings for both technical and non-technical audiences and partners
Critical thinker who is able to ask questions of stakeholders to truly define analytical needs to drive decision making and action, especially when asks may not meet stakeholders actual needs
Able to translate analytics and data jargon into plain English that is understandable by a variety of stakeholders with different levels of comfort with data
Experience with A/B and multivariate testing for marketing, media and/or CRM
Highly proficient with PowerPoint or Google Slides
Desired:
Experience working in support of digital media analytics, in particular working within the various
Deep understanding of the digital and offline media and CRM landscape – including platforms, strategies, data and performance measures
Experience analyzing Digital Marketing performance (search, email, social, programmatic display, etc.)
Experience analyzing clickstream and conversion data (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, AppsFlyer)
Experience designing dashboards, or dashboard content, for business stakeholders and non-data savvy users to support business health and self-service dashboards
