About the role:

The Loan Market National Director will work closely with the leadership team in NZ to lead and grow the Loan Market NZ network and execute on our strategy.

The National Director is responsible for leading the sales team to drive business growth and profitability, including recruitment activity and building the brand within NZ.

This role is based on site in Auckland.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Contribution to Executive

• Contribution to the operational and tactical implementation of organisational strategy and change for Loan Market
• Sharing insights on industry trends and best practices
• Together with the board, set the target for the number of new franchisees and manage the activity to achieve this target whilst maintaining the quality of recruits. Ensure Franchisees and businesses are properly inducted and become productive in our group.
• Working and collaborating with peers to solve business problems collectively
• Contribute to the leadership team, strategy development and key decisions for the overall NZFSG business

Team Leadership and Management

• Recruit and develop an “A team” of Regional Managers (RM’s) who each have the ability and knowledge to coach and train our franchisee members to grow.
• Create short and long term team targets that NZ executes against
• Guide, coach and develop the sales team, ensuring they all have a development plan and regular reviews
• Team behaviours are in alignment with our values and meeting expectations
• Ability to make the tough decisions when necessary
• Lead change and shape the attitudes and perceptions of the team

Advisor Recruitment

• Operationalise and execute an organisational recruitment strategy for the state
• Create, build and maintain an ongoing relationship with key talent across the industry
• Manage the selection process to ensure new recruits are aligned to our vision and values
• Attraction of talent through brand advocacy
• Grow a network of Insurance Market advisers to support our Loan Market businesses

Grow Advisor Businesses and keep them safe

• To be able to challenge and persuade high quality and high potential advisors under the branded and non branded options
• Forecasting and proactive interventions that drive performance, based on collective advisor business plans to ensure targets are met
• Ensure delivery of training, insights & educational events ensuring depth of content and growth in average productivity and revenue per advisor.
• Ensure that all advisors are fully trained and able to implement all tech and marketing initiatives as well as operate in a compliant manner with the legislative and regulatory framework in both the consumer finance and insurance sectors.
• Segment franchisees via the group’s segmentation strategy and provide business coaching to our most valued franchises.
• Ensure our advisors and Client Support Managers (CSM’s) understand their compliance obligations and ensure that our Advisor Success Managers (ASM’s) effectively implement our Consequence Management Policy and other policies we have developed.

Grow Ray White Market Share

• Manage & build a strong relationship with the Ray White NZ country head to work collaboratively on two way engagement of LM and RW franchisee’s for mutual benefit
• Create and maintain relationships with Ray White top performing RW franchisee’s and ensure continuing education on the benefits of establishing and maintaining a relationship with an advisor

Establish, Build and Maintain Lender Relationships

• Build strategic partnerships with the lenders that will support Loan Market sponsorship
• Gaining insight into industry trends and what our competitors are doing that can become an input into business strategic planning
• Ensure our key lending partners remain helpful and eager to assist our growth

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Excellent communicator both in verbal and written formats with proven ability to to develop, implement and manage change
• Proven ability to deliver value to franchisees or small businesses
• Proven ability to recruit business owners
• Proven ability to translate strategy into management actions and ability to prioritise and manage multiple priorities
• An experienced sales leader
• Ability to provide business coaching support/ advice to top business owners
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
• Established lending and insurance relationships
• Experience working with regulatory partners
• Sound working knowledge of NZ FMA regulations and licencing regime
