Why is this role important?
Responsibilities:
Communicate with various carriers, providing details on deliveries, identifying HOS issues and confirming work for following day
Dispatch drivers via Dispatch tool or Driver App, and completing debrief at end of day
Communicate with planners and billing team, providing updates and required system updates
Respond to driver inquiries via App or by phone
Coordinate backhauls and track
Update required tracking tools
Communicate repair requirements to appropriate parties
Provide responses to operations and carriers as needed
Prepare required paperwork for delivery
Other duties as required
Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of two years’ experience in distribution operations and transportation
Previous supervisory experience a definite asset
Demonstrated effective interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
Proven negotiating and problem solving skills
Must have strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate others through persuasion and encouragement
Ability to deal effectively with all levels of management and customers
Experience with computer systems in a Windows environment required, with a demonstrated ability to learn new systems
