Job Summary

Meath County Council is the authority responsible for the delivery of a wide range of public services, with a focus on making Meath the lead county for economic prosperity, social development and environmental protection, with efficient and good value services and a Council representing the people and communities of County Meath in an effective and accountable manner.

A vacancy now exists in Meath County Council for the position of Health and Safety Officer. The Health and Safety Officer is responsible for the planning and management of the Health and Safety section for the Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and maintenance of a robust safety management system in accordance with legal and other requirements to enable a safe place of work for employees, contractors and visitors.

The officer will be responsible for the introduction of new initiatives, policies and procedures and working with multidisciplinary teams. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic and progressive Council which provides multiple services to the County.
