Recycling Assistant (Scariff)

Job Summary

The role will involve working on and operating the Civic Amenity Site (CAS) based in Scariff in a safe and efficient manner under the direction of the supervising Engineer/Supervisor and in accordance with instructions issued by the Local Authority from time to time. Knowledge and/or experience of working under an occupational health and management system is desirable. Note that duties may change from time to time. The post is specific to Scariff Recycling Centre with the initial assignment being 26.5 hours per week.

Duties will include the control of littering and debris on the access routes to the facility and in the proper supervision, care, and operation of the facility in accordance with the instructions issued to them by the Executive Engineer or such other person as may be determined from time to time.

Each candidate must, on the closing date for receipt of completed applications:

• Have a good standard of education to enable them to carry out their duties efficiently.

Desirable Criteria

• Have reasonable standard of education to enable them to carry out their duties efficiently.

• Knowledge of or experience of working under an occupational health and safety management system
• Traffic management
• Possess a satisfactory knowledge of the functions and duties of Local Authorities
• Be capable of writing clear and concise reports and to be able to keep records regarding the work under their control
• Have basic ICT skills
• Have such satisfactory experience of a nature as would render them suitable to perform the duties of the position
• Have the full-time use of a car and hold a full Driving Licence in respect of Category ‘B’ and Category ‘W’ Vehicles in the E.U. Model Driving Licence, or equivalent on the latest date for receipt of completed applications.
