The primary role of the Senior Enterprise Development Officer is to support the Head of Enterprise in the management of operations and in the achievement of the Local Enterprise Office’s business goals. This support lies in operational management and the provision of Business Information and Advisory Services; Enterprise Support Services; Entrepreneurship Support Services and Local Enterprise Development Services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties of the office are to give to the local authority under the direction and supervision of its appropriate officer such services of an executive, supervisory or advisory nature as are required for the exercise and performance of any of its powers and duties and will include the duty of deputising for other officers of the local authority when required and such duties as may be required in relation to the area of any other local authority.
Assisting the Head of LEO in:
area;
agencies and institutions;
in all assignments;
evaluating their applications, preparation of written appraisals, presentation of appraisals to the
LEO Evaluation and Approvals Committee and the oversight and management of the subsequent
grant offer and drawdown process for approved projects and client progress review.
The Senior Enterprise Development Officer will also:
Ensure the Head of Enterprise is fully informed of operational and performance activities and overall team progress;
Representing the Head of Enterprise/Local Enterprise Office/Monaghan County Council, at stakeholder meetings, public and business events and meetings, locally, regionally and nationally;
Management of all financial and operational processes within the Local Enterprise Office, including budgetary and financial management, ensuring all financial practices are in line with the LEO’s Operating Processes and Procedures and Monaghan County Council’s financial and audit systems and requirements
Managing the Local Enterprise Office annual performance metrics so as to maximize the delivery of services and quality of service provision, ensuring all targets and metrics are achieved
Contributing to the development, resourcing and delivery of new initiatives and programmes within the Local Authority in support of enterprise and economic development in County Monaghan
Other duties required to contribute to the successful management of the Local Enterprise Office services may be assigned from time to time by the Head of Enterprise and/or other nominated members of the Local Enterprise Office management team.
Persons employed will be required to work in any location within the Monaghan County Council administrative area.

are fully competent and available to undertake, and fully capable of undertaking, the duties attached to the position.
