The Director of Education Services will provide strategic and inspirational leadership for LSHTM’s education services across the student lifecycle; oversee LSHTM’s academic regulations, quality and standards; and drive the delivery of an outstanding student experience that reflects and embeds LSHTM’s values and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion commitments.
This is an exciting time to join LSHTM as we bring our new Vision and Strategy 2022 – 27 to life and our ambition to expand and enhance our education provision. The Director of Education Services will work in partnership with the Pro Director Education and play a pivotal role in steering the delivery of the emerging education strategic plan. You will provide change leadership to bring about successful and impactful improvements and have a steadfast focus on service excellence.
The responsibilities are comparable with an Academic Registrar role. You will lead LSHTM’s Registry and Student Systems, Student Support Services, Student Experience and Engagement, Programme Administration Office and Quality and Academic Standards teams.
We are looking for applicants with experience of exceptional service leadership in the Higher Education sector and experience of effectively leading organisational and operational change, with a particular focus on stakeholder engagement. You will have expert diplomatic and influencing skills and outstanding relationship management and interpersonal skills. You will have strong knowledge and understanding of UK Higher Education, legislation and regulation that impacts education and students, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Higher Education and inter-cultural competency to work with staff and students from around the world.
The post is full time and permanent.
The salary will be on the Senior Professional Services salary scale Grade 9 – competitive in the range of £75,000 – £90,000 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. This role will be in line with our hybrid working model currently being implemented with a mixture of days spent in our offices at Keppel Street, London.
