The Division of Administration/Office of State Buildings has a vacancy. This job title has an assigned pay grade of WS-213.
This vacancy will be filled by new hire or by promotion of a current permanent status classified employee.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Three years of experience in the painting trade.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
Training in the painting trade will substitute for a maximum of two years of the required experience on a month for month basis.
Job Concepts
Function of Work:
To serve as assistant to a Painter Foreman and provide assistance, guidance and support to a group of Painters while performing standard tasks of the trade.
Level of Work:
Advanced.
Supervision Received:
General from a Painter Foreman.
Supervision Exercised:
Leadworker over Painters and Apprentices.
Location of Work:
May be used by all state agencies.
Job Distinctions:
Differs from Painter Foreman by the absence of full supervisory responsibilities.
Differs from Painter by the presence of advanced journeyman duties and leadworker responsibilities.
Examples of Work
Performs all tasks enumerated for the Painter job.
Provides guidance for journeyman painters, apprentices and helpers as directed by foreman or other supervisory personnel.
Directs the sequence of work of subordinates.
Works with and sets pace for subordinates.
Estimates costs of painting projects.

Holidays and Leave – State employees receive the following paid holidays each year: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Mardi Gras, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Additional holidays may be proclaimed by the Governor. State employees earn sick and annual leave which can be accumulated and saved for future use. Your accrual rate increases as your years of service increase.
