We have a great opportunity to join our education team as a Local Education Manager for Novus, our prison education provider at HMP ISIS, offered on a permanent basis, working 37 hours per week.

What the role entails

As a Local Education Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day running, management and co-ordination of the service within an establishment, working directly with the prison Governor and education lead. Strategically planning and co-ordinating effective teaching and learning plans in compliance with the Novus quality assurance.

HMP & YOI Isis is a well-resourced provision with extremely inclusive practice between the education provider, Governor and Prison team. We are looking for someone with vision, passion, and resilience to make impactful changes that will enable prisoners to gain both accreditation and the skills to gain employment or enter FE on release.

What we need from you

To be successful in the role of Local Education Manager you will need:

• A teaching qualification – minimum of Cert Ed or PGCE
• Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
• Developing, leading and managing a team effectively
• Managing colleagues including the deployment of those colleagues and appropriate delegation of tasks
• Implementing and managing continuous quality assurance and improvement procedures
• Successful partnership working
• Effectively managing a budget and financial planning
• The successful candidate will have experience of change management, team building and demonstrate a commitment to value driven practice.
• Gain/hold and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
