Lucid Software Hiring for Sr. Software Engineer, SRE, APAC Job at Melbourne, Australia Full Time

As a Sr. Software Engineer in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) at Lucid you will help build software and systems that are highly available, fault tolerant, scalable, and high performance. On the SRE team you will ensure that Lucid’s services, both internal and external, have uptime appropriate to the needs of our users and business. Additionally, you will design and implement new systems to meet the needs of our business and customers. Ideally, you are excited to learn our tech stack (Scala, TypeScript, Terraform, AWS, Chef), are passionate about new opportunities, and have a demonstrable track record of success in delivering measurable enhancements to software systems and infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software and systems
• Monitor, detect, diagnose, fix, and optimize issues in systems
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
• Support and develop engineers by providing advice and coaching when needed
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• BS Degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 5 years of industry experience
• Expertise in designing, analyzing, debugging, and optimizing distributed systems
• Experience with algorithms and data structures

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Scala or Java
• Experience with MySQL or another relational database
• Experience with cloud infrastructure is a bonus
• Experience working with infrastructure as code tools is a bonus
• Experience with configuration management tools is a bonus
• Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript is a bonus
• Can easily thrive working in an energizing environment
• Bias towards finding solutions vs. shutting down ideas
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
